SULW vs LDNW Match 20 Prediction, Odds & Playing XI

August 4, 2026

Author: Neil Sharma

Sunrisers Leeds have lost three matches in a row heading into Match 20, a slide that has turned their title defence into a fight just to reach the eliminator. London Spirit arrive at Headingley in little better form, but a tied match against MI London and a five-wicket win over Trent Rockets have at least kept their campaign level rather than sliding.

The defending champions have played every match of this season without frontline seamer Kate Cross, who tore ligaments in her left shoulder while fielding on the opening day and has not featured since.

Captain Dani Gibson has instead leaned on Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield, while London Spirit’s Charlie Dean will look to Amy Jones and Marie Kelly, both of whom starred in the tied derby against MI London.

This preview covers the current form of both sides, their squads, conditions at Headingley and a prediction for Match 20.

Sunrisers Leeds & London Spirit Squads for Women’s Hundred 2026

Sunrisers Leeds go into Match 20 still missing Kate Cross, whose scans confirmed AC joint ligament damage after she landed awkwardly making a diving stop on the tournament’s opening day. Annabel Sutherland has carried much of the bowling and finishing workload since, including an unbeaten 59 off 30 balls in the defeat to Trent Rockets.

London Spirit’s campaign has turned on tight finishes rather than authority, with Amy Jones’ 49 setting up their tied chase against MI London and Marie Kelly winning the player of the match award in the same game for a 28-ball 45.

London Spirit have registered two victories, with the rivalry producing several closely contested encounters since the competition’s inaugural season in 2021.

Players to Watch for Sunrisers Leeds vs London Spirit

  • Dani Gibson (SRL-W) — The Sunrisers Leeds captain and the tournament’s most expensive English signing at £190,000 has taken on extra responsibility with the ball in Kate Cross’s absence.
  • Annabel Sutherland (SRL-W) — Her unbeaten 59 off 30 balls against Trent Rockets was the standout innings of Sunrisers Leeds’ three-match losing run, and she remains their key all-round threat.
  • Phoebe Litchfield (SRL-W) — Last season’s leading run-scorer opened the tournament with 43 off 26 balls against MI London and remains the batter Sunrisers Leeds look to for early momentum.
  • Charlie Dean (LS-W) — London Spirit’s captain and off-spinner has kept her side competitive in every match so far, including a match-defining bowling display of her own against MI London.
  • Amy Jones (LS-W) — The wicketkeeper-batter’s 49 anchored London Spirit’s tied chase against MI London and gives them a reliable option at the top of the order.
  • Marie Kelly (LS-W) — Player of the match in the derby tie with MI London for a 28-ball 45, Kelly has emerged as a genuine middle-order threat for the Spirit.

Winner Prediction

Sunrisers Leeds arrive on a three-match losing streak and still without Kate Cross, their most experienced seam bowler, which has left their attack short of its usual control.

London Spirit have not won convincingly themselves, but a tie and a five-wicket win in their last three outings represent better recent form than the champions can currently claim.

London Spirit are the narrow favourites at Headingley, though home advantage and Sutherland’s form make this closer to a coin-flip than the recent results suggest.
