Author: Neil Sharma

Dawid Malan’s nine half-centuries have stood as the benchmark for consistency since The Hundred launched in 2021, though Jordan Cox’s record-breaking 2025 season closed the gap to just two.

This list ranks the ten batters with the most 50-plus scores in the men’s competition’s history, covering all five completed seasons from 2021 to 2025, before the 2026 season begins in July.

We also take a closer look at each player’s record and contribution to the tournament.

1. Dawid Malan

Malan tops the list with nine fifties from 40 matches, built on a measured 130.30 strike rate rather than raw power.

He was drafted by Trent Rockets in the inaugural 2021 season, later moving through Northern Superchargers before joining Oval Invincibles.

His 98 not out remains his best score, and his method mirrors the anchoring role he’s long played in franchise T20 cricket worldwide.

2. Jos Buttler

Buttler has the highest average among the top three, 39.78, built from just 25 matches for Manchester Originals.

His eight fifties came at a strike rate of 142.52, and his best score of 82 reflects an efficiency few others on this list can match, largely because England duties have limited his Hundred appearances compared to full-time franchise regulars.

3. James Vince

Vince matches Buttler’s eight fifties but needed 44 matches to get there, making him the most consistent long-term contributor on this list.

A Southern Brave player since the competition’s first ball in 2021, his 90 not out is his highest score, and a 136.91 strike rate shows a balance between accumulation and aggression across five seasons.

4. Jordan Cox

Cox has climbed this list fastest, reaching seven fifties in just 29 matches since debuting in 2022.

His 2025 season alone brought Player of the Series honours, including an unbeaten 86 off 29 balls against Welsh Fire that helped Oval Invincibles post 226/4, the format’s highest total. His 49.47 average is the best among the top ten.

5. Phil Salt

Salt’s seven fifties sit alongside a competition-record 1138 runs, more than any other player in Hundred history. Playing every season for Manchester Originals, his 152.95 strike rate marks him as one of the format’s most aggressive openers.

His highest score of 86 came in a powerplay assault typical of the approach that has made him a white-ball fixture for England.

6. Liam Livingstone

Livingstone’s six fifties from 38 matches for Birmingham Phoenix include a 92 not out in 2021 built on ten sixes, a record that stood until Jordan Cox matched it four years later.

His 148.87 strike rate reflects a middle-order role built around clearing the boundary rather than rotating strike, and a 34.34 average shows he rarely wastes his starts.

7. Will Jacks

Jacks is the only player in the top ten with a Hundred century, his unbeaten 108 arriving alongside six fifties from 42 matches for Oval Invincibles.

His 160.15 strike rate is the highest of any top-ten batter with at least five fifties, and his 1065 career runs place him fourth on the competition’s all-time run charts.

8. Jonny Bairstow

Bairstow’s five fifties have come from just 21 matches as Welsh Fire’s captain, giving him one of the best fifty-to-match ratios on this list.

His best score of 86 not out came at a strike rate of 137.88, and while injuries have limited his availability in recent seasons, he remains a key middle-order presence whenever fit.

9. Sam Curran

Better known as an all-rounder, Curran has still managed five fifties from 37 matches for Oval Invincibles, with a best of 68.

His 150.49 strike rate points to genuine finishing ability, highlighted in 2025 when he struck 52 off 24 balls against Trent Rockets, including six sixes in an eight-ball stretch alongside Jordan Cox.

10. Harry Brook

Brook rounds out the list with four fifties from 35 matches for Northern Superchargers, including an unbeaten 105 that makes him one of only two century-makers in the top ten alongside Will Jacks.

His 162.52 strike rate is the highest of anyone on this list, underlining the aggressive middle-order game that has made him an England mainstay.
